Marriage Preparation

Thank you for choosing St. Vincent de Paul parish to prepare you for your marriage or your convalidation. Whether you choose to celebrate your wedding at St. Vincent de Paul or elsewhere, we are delighted to assist you in the joyful journey.

If you are interested in having your wedding or convalidation at St. Vincent de Paul, please complete the Wedding Reservation and Marriage Preparation form below and email it to either Elizabeth Ducote at educote@svdp-edu.org or Deacon Burt Martin at bmartin@svdp-edu.org. If you need additional information or have any questions, please feel free to contact Elizabeth or Deacon Burt.

If you are being married in a parish other than St. Vincent de Paul but wish to do your marriage preparation with us, please complete the Marriage Preparation Form (Wedding at Church other than St. Vincent de Paul) below and return it to either Elizabeth or Deacon Burt.

For all couples who are preparing for marriage or convalidation, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston requires attendance at a retreat. The Parish and Family Life Ministries of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church offers a weekend retreat entitled “Married in the Catholic Church (MICC)”. MICC is designed to assist couples by providing real life, practical and spiritual advice for their married life together.

The weekend consists of talks, discussions and exercises led by married couples covering a wide range of topics, such as faith life, parenting, conflict resolution, finances, careers and forgiveness. The one-and-a-half-day retreat is held onsite at SVdP (overnight stay not required) and all materials, including food and drinks, are included. The MICC retreat is offered twice a year, in the Fall and the Spring.
