St. Vincent de Paul’s Music Ministry serves our parish community by calling forth “sung prayer” from our worshipers at Mass, and at other times of prayer in song. Daryel conducts, trains, and serves our canters, adult vocal ensembles and instrumentalists who support these sung prayers in our parish worship, and as keyboardist accompanies much of our music, as organist or pianist. Having a technology background too, Daryel is also responsible for the technology support of our daily internet livestreaming, and over time has performed technology support for other technology-based needs.
He is a member and has served on the boards of both the American Guild of Organists, Houston Chapter, and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, Houston Chapter. Concurrent with serving the community of St. Vincent de Paul, Daryel was also music director and seminary organist, at St. Mary’s Seminary, Houston, Texas for 5 years.
Prior to moving to Houston, Daryel was music director and seminary organist, at Holy Trinity Seminary, Irving, Texas, and was director of the university chorale, university organist, and adjunct professor of music, at the University of Dallas, Irving, Texas for 3 years.
